This is the agreement between you and Kin Espresso Bar when you use our website, our app, or our points scheme. We've written it in plain English, because a coffee shop shouldn't need a lawyer to explain how to buy a latte.
1. Who we are

2. Ordering
Orders placed through the site or app are requests to buy. We'll confirm your order on screen and give you a pickup code. If a drink is unavailable, or we can't make your order for any reason, we'll contact you on the phone number you gave us and refund anything you've already paid.
Prices shown include the drink and any options you choose. Sales tax is added at checkout or at the register. We may change prices at any time, but never after you've placed an order.
Orders are for pickup only, at 145 Church St NW, Vienna, VA. We don't deliver. Please collect within a reasonable time — drinks don't improve with waiting, and we can't remake an order that's gone cold on the counter.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your password to yourself, and for anything done through your account.
One account per person. One account per phone number. Creating multiple accounts to earn points more than once isn't allowed, and we may close accounts and cancel points if we believe that's happening.
You can delete your account at any time by emailing us. We'll remove your personal details, though we may keep records of transactions where the law requires it.
4. Points and rewards
These are the rules, in full, with nothing hidden:
- You earn 1 point for every $1 you spend, rounded down.
- Points are added when you collect your order — not when you place it. An order that's never picked up earns nothing.
- You need an account to earn points. Guest orders don't earn, and points can't be added to an order after the fact.
- Rewards currently cost: any hot drink — 100 points, any iced drink — 200 points, any dessert — 150 points. We may change what rewards cost, or add new ones. Points you've already earned keep their value.
- One reward per order, applied to the most expensive qualifying item in it.
- One account per person, and one per phone number. Making extra accounts to earn extra points isn't allowed, and we may cancel points and close accounts if we believe that's happening.
- Points have no cash value. They can't be sold, transferred between accounts, or exchanged for money.
- We may end the scheme. If we do, we'll give you reasonable notice and a chance to spend what you've earned.
5. The app
Installing our app is free, and it's the same shop either way. Installing it doesn't earn you points on its own — points come from buying drinks and collecting them.
6. Emails from us
We'll only email you about your orders unless you specifically tick the box asking for news and offers. That box is separate, it starts unticked, and you can untick it later from your account or by clicking unsubscribe in any email. We won't sell your email address to anyone, ever.
7. Behaving reasonably
Please don't attempt to break, overload, or exploit the site; place fraudulent orders; or use the site to harass our staff. We may refuse service or close accounts if you do.
8. Things we can't promise
We do our best to keep the site accurate and available, but we can't promise it will never go down or never contain a mistake. If we've got a price or a description wrong, we'll tell you and cancel or refund the order rather than hold you to it.
To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for anything arising from the site or an order is limited to what you paid for that order. Nothing here limits liability for things the law says can't be limited — including death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
Allergens: our drinks and desserts are made in a small space where milk, nuts, soy, gluten and eggs are all present. We can't guarantee any item is free from traces of an allergen. If you have a serious allergy, please talk to us at the counter before ordering.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. If we change something that matters, we'll say so on the site and ask you to agree again next time you order.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and any dispute goes to the courts of Virginia.
